Take a breath, you’re home!
We are a grassroots folk school building strong community and friendships in person and online. This is a brave space that leans into tears and learning, helping us grow in caring for each other and finding joy. We share wisdom, sing together, support each other through grief, and practice connecting with others.
Who is it for?
People who want to be part of creating a culture of Belonging. Especially visionary folks in space-holding roles, like song leaders, teachers, skill coaches, therapists, grief tenders, educators, event planners, elders, non-profit organizations, parents, etc.
Our Offerings
We often gather in warm, nurturing Zoom sessions where we cultivate belonging through shared practices like singing, grief support, community care skill-building, and storytelling.
Some of these online events are open to the public, while others are specially designed by and for our members. All sessions welcome members to participate fully.
Our Vision
We believe in the power of kinship tending (intentionally nurturing belonging), where choices are rooted in kindness and community instead of enmity and isolation.
By practicing relational skills, we can live authentically, play joyfully, rupture/repair, and deepen connections with each other, within ourselves, and with the planet.
Stellar Village is guided by the leadership of our Butterfly Council and our founders, a diverse core group with shared values tending to the heart of Stellar Village.
Aaron Johnson | Touch Activist

Aaron Johnson is a facilitator, public speaker, and touch activist who practices tenderness and platonic touch (like putting our feet on the earth or holding hands while sharing) as a way to break down barriers. As co-founder of both Holistic Resistance and Grief to Action, Aaron takes the time to hold the stories of Black people around homophobia, transphobia, internalized racism, and folks that are Chronically UnderTouched.
Grief to Action is a semi-mobile camp with a land-based community in the Mojave Desert. It creates space on Black-owned land for deep grief and anger, which leads to new ideas that transform harmful systems into caring ones. Because oppression is part of US history and culture, leaning into the lasting impact of these traumas can be used as a guide for everyone’s healing.
Aaron Johnson uses and invites others to try ways to work through these stories, like listening together, sound healing, meditation, and connecting with the earth.
Grisha Stewart | Collaboration Weaver
